Khea Gumbs, LMFT
Owner
Khea initially started her work with young people by teaching in high schools. She graduated from California State University Monterey Bay, with her Bachelors Degree in Human Communication. Khea knew early on that she wanted to touch lives, so she went back to college and received her Masters Degree in Marriage family Counseling. While taking part in learning a variety of different treatment modalities and approaches to providing therapy, Khea began to work for a non-profit organization specializing in case management and therapeutic services for foster youth in the Bay Area. It was at that specific job site, where she gained all her clinical hours towards being a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California.
Khea spent 22 years serving youth and their families in the Bay Area. Khea's accolades include but are not limited to: taking part in (NAEYC) National Association for the Education of Young Children in 2002 and volunteering to serve on the board of East Bay Chapter of CAMFT for four years now. Khea's past work experience and life goals have afforded her the opportunity to provide advocacy, guidance, Relational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Strategic Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, all stemming from a Reality-Based approach. All of Khea's life, she has been in leadership positions that not only supports the company she is with but also provides continuity for others to thrive and grow towards a brighter future.
